Notes:

4 CD set in clamshell case with 4 pages of notes by Weather Report biographer Curt Bianchi. The notes below are quotes from and summaries of his descriptions. This set was produced as a perk for an Indiegogo campaign created by Tony Zawinul in 2013/14 to finance the This Is This Weather Report Documentary. The sources were tapes from Joe's "private collection." 

Tape 1 is dated Nov 4 and likely to be the version of the band with Miroslav Vitous, Eric Gravatt, and Dom Um Romao, placing it as either 1972 or 73. 

"San Diego 1974 is from August 16 at the Civic Theater," with Darryl Brown on drums. Dom plays the berimbau on the opener American Tango. 

CD 3 is the 1974/75 band with Chester Thompson and Alphonso. 

"WWSC 3/74 is the earlier of the two 1974 tapes, taken from the March 10 show at the Western Washington State College (now Western Washington University) in Bellingham. This was one of Alphonso's earliest shows, and the drummer at the time was Ishmael Wilburn." 

The notes also mention shows from 1980 with Jaco Pastorius and Peter Erskine and 1983 with Omar Hakim and Victor Bailey, though these recordings are not actually included as part of this set.
