Formed in 2011, The Cynz are often described as the closest thing to the 1970s CBGB era you can find today. Led by the powerhouse duo of Cyndi Dawson and Henry Seiz, the band delivers a full-throttle performance that balances raw punk attitude with melodic rock hooks.

  • The Sound: Think Joan Jett meets The Ramones with a splash of The MC5. Their music is rooted in the "chainsaw" guitar style of the Lower East Side, featuring songs about heartbreak, survival, and redemption.
  • The Presence: Cyndi Dawson is a "visual tsunami" on stage. With a background in performance poetry, she treats every lyric as a living rhythm, delivering vocals that channel the spirit of Patti Smith and Brody Dalle.
  • Key Tracks: Look out for hits like "Little Miss Lost" (on Jem Records), "Crow-Haired Boys," and their high-energy cover of The Smithereens' "Room Without a View."

The Opener: Slamdinistas (from LA)

Coming all the way from Los Angeles, the Slamdinistas are the perfect fuse-lighter for the evening. Comprised of veteran musicians who have played with the likes of Gilby Clarke, Chris Spedding, and The Dogs, they bring a massive, world-class sound to the opening slot.

  • The Pedigree: This is a "supergroup" of underground legends. Guitarist Loren Molinare (The Dogs, Little Caesar) and vocalist Gabriel Johns (Shelter) lead a quintet that blends Detroit street punk with British Invasion rave-ups.
  • The Vibe: Though they hail from LA, they describe themselves as a "dirty NYC Lower East Side band" at heart. Their sound is melodic yet gritty—country-and-blues-inflected rock that feels like a late-night session with the Rolling Stones.
  • What to Expect: Expect tracks from their acclaimed albums Shoot for the Stars and Wild & Restless, including the anthemic "Oh Yeah!" and the gritty "Latch Key Kids."

Why You Can’t Miss This Show

This lineup is a rare opportunity to see two bands that live and breathe the "Rock is Religion" philosophy.

  1. Veteran Chops: Between both bands, you have decades of touring experience and songwriting prowess.
  2. The Energy: There are no "mellow" moments here. From the first chord of the Slamdinistas' set to The Cynz's final encore, it is a non-stop, 120-mph rock 'n' roll rite of passage.
  3. The Connection: Both bands thrive on intimacy and audience interaction. In a venue like the Man Cave, you aren't just watching a performance; you’re in the middle of a sweaty, joyful, guitar-driven party.

Pro Tip: If this show is at Randy Now’s Man Cave, tickets will disappear fast. The Man Cave is an intimate "listening room" style venue where you are mere feet from the performers, making the wall of sound from these two bands even more impactful.
