The Royal Bloodlines of Classic Rock: Sons of Cream Live at Randy Now’s Man Cave
When a band’s DNA includes two-thirds of the world's first definitive rock supergroup, "tribute act" isn't a strong enough phrase. This is a living genetic imprint.
Sons of Cream are bringing the blistering, psychedelic blues-rock legacy of 1960s icons Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker straight to the incredibly intimate stage at Randy Now’s Man Cave in Hightstown, NJ.
This isn’t a group of session musicians playing standard radio covers note-for-note. The band features the actual sons and legacy carriers who grew up watching the original masters create the blueprint for heavy rock:
Kofi Baker – Son of legendary, explosive powerhouse drummer Ginger Baker. Malcolm Bruce – Son of Cream’s pioneering vocalist, bassist, and principal songwriter Jack Bruce. Rob Johnson – Grandnephew of Ginger Baker, locking down the guitar work with familial chemistry.
A Living Organism, Not a Museum Piece
Back in 1967, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Jack Bruce changed the world by fusing deep American blues with British psychedelia and jazz improvisation.
Sons of Cream approach the catalog the same exact way their fathers did—treating the music like a living organism. Audiences can expect legendary staples like "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Room," "Tales of Brave Ulysses," and "Badge," alongside deep-cut explorations into related projects of the era, such as Blind Faith.
Rather than mimicking studio recordings, Kofi and Malcolm use their inherited, multidimensional pedigree to jam, shift, and reshape the tracks live in the moment. It is high-energy, audacious, and completely unscripted blues-rock improvisation.
