Alongside The Toasters, they are widely recognized as pioneers of the "Third Wave" of ska, blending the upbeat energy of British 2-Tone (think The Specials and Madness) with rock ‘n’ roll, calypso, and a heavy dose of Bob Marley-inspired reggae.

With over 40 years of history, 13 albums, and 10 Boston Music Awards under their belts, BSB is one of the longest-running and most decorated independent bands in the country. From their 1986 self-titled debut that landed them on the cover of CMJ to their 1997 "Boston on the Road" tour with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Dropkick Murphys, they have remained a cornerstone of the genre.
